We had a great time with Jeff & Pat at the Tyler Arboretum for their engagement session. Jeff loves the arboretum and when he suggested it as a place to shoot their engagement session, I jumped at the opportunity. We did manage one of the warmer days this winter, and even though there was a lot of snow on the ground, they were troopers and had a great time.
You may remember Heather and Mike from the blog just a few months ago. They were the ones who wanted to walk through the mud in Ridley Creek State Park and recreate the Dirty Dancing tree-over-the-creek scene. They got married not very long after that engagement session on a hazy, hot and humid July day at the Greystone Hall in West Chester, PA. A quick tangent on Greystone Hall first. Holy cow! That place is beautiful. Everywhere you look is an amazing backdrop. It was also my first experience working with the Video and DJ guys at Lovesick, Inc. They made the day a lot of fun and kept everyone on the dance floor well into the night.
Heather and Mike wanted to see each other before the wedding, but we didn’t have much time. Luckily we were operate on a limited timeline to come up with some great photos before the ceremony and a few fun ones after the ceremony with Mike’s ’32 Ford. I even got to sit in the rumble seat and go for a ride with the new bride and groom! There were too many photos to choose from for the blog, so I just put them all, up. Get your scrolling finger ready!
I’m going to be honest with this one, I wasn’t sure what to expect! Kellie and Amadou were a little light on details when we were planning their wedding photography and for good reason – they were both graduating Med School two days before. I quickly realized that they were both laid back and were up for whatever I asked of them. We were able to make a few quick photos on Broad St then made a quick run up to Hahnemann Hospital for a few photos between rain showers.
The ceremony was held at the Hyatt Bellevue, and they were surrounded with close family and friends. Amadou’s family is originally from South Africa, so they were able to do a joint ceremony to honor both both African and traditional customs.
I had such a great time while shooting Heather and Mike’s engagement session last Saturday. We met at Ridley Creek State Park and walked around near the creek and hiking paths to start off. They didn’t set their expectations as models very high, mostly because they would be laughing and goofing off most of the time. While that was true, we did make a lot of great photos. It was great being outside on a nice day with a couple who was willing to go crawling across logs, stand in freezing cold streams, and lay in the tall grass. I can’t wait for their wedding in July!
When they saw this log, they wanted to recreate the famous scene from “Dirty Dancing”, which then turned into the “Karate Kid”.
They kept me on my toes by doing things like this without telling me what they were doing. It’s a good thing I was paying attention while they were walking ahead of me.
Sarah and I met over ten years ago in college and have been friends since. She agreed to shoot my engagement photos and when she got engaged I’d shoot hers. I knew the day wouldn’t be long until I would be returning the favor when she met Armen. We had an awesome time walking around Old City and the water front on a beautiful sunny fall day. Thanks again guys! Can’t wait ’til the wedding!
It’s always weird going back to where you grew up – you never know who you’ll run into. Last year, I ran into a friend of mine I knew since second grade while at the grocery store. Scott and I met in Mrs. Alloway’s class and were friends through high school. As we were catching up, I mentioned I am a photographer and he quickly mentioned he’d be getting married soon.
I was so excited to be able to shoot the wedding for he and Natalie. They had a sunny late August wedding day at Bear Creek Mountain Resort in the Pocono Mountains (we missed Hurricane Irene by about 12 hours). It was great to see a lot of old friends and be able to make a ton of great photos.
Nichole and Derek had a beautiful, hot July summer day for their wedding at the Lake House Inn on Lake Nockamixon in Perkasie, PA. The Inn is a beautiful place for a wedding with an area for the ceremony right beside the lake, a spacious ballroom, and beautiful old (but modern) Inn on the same property. I spent most of the time with the guys, and had a great time getting to know Derek, his family and groomsmen. We even got to watch the Phillies game for a few innings before the ceremony. All photos shot for my friend JDN Photography.
This past weekend I shot Sherry and Steve’s wedding with my good friend Jon Nimerfroh.
The wedding was at Sacred Heart Church, in Havertown, PA and reception at the Springfield Country Club, in Springfield, PA.
